More about LeeAnn,

After my first child was born in 1976 I started participating in an aerobics class. I enjoyed it so much I took my instructor’s course at the YM – YMCA in Victoria. I started Cobble Hill Fitness, went to various halls, pulling my record player, yes record player, out of my trunk with kids in tow, teaching aerobics. I then in 1982 started Movement Unlimited which later we added a full gym and aerobics facility and took my Personal Training Course. Eighteen years I worked at training people and teaching aerobics. Working with local physiotherapists and chiropractors to create unique programs for my clients with special physical needs. In 2000 I needed to shift gears. My body was hurting after all the years of pounding from teaching aerobics, so I started training in Stott Pilates in Victoria, then on to Toronto Stott Headquarters to train further. I set up my own intimate Pilates Studio. My clientele are men and women from 20 – 72 years old. Dealing with athletes, rehab, dancers, golfers and people who had a hard time walking. I even have clients from Cobble Hill Fitness days! I’m passionate about Pilates and continue to train at Pilates from the Centre and other Pilates Centres to always stay currant. My clients keep me loving what I do. Westhill Place Pilates has classes for all levels using mat reformer cadilac and stability chair. Pilates is a perfect way to workout the body by combining stretching and strengthening, making Pilates a total body workout.

What Is Pilates?

The Pilates Method of exercise was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. It was originally used as a rehabilitation program for prisoners of war and was later found to be of great benefit to anyone seeking a higher level of fitness. The work was kept alive over the years by a small group of Joseph Pilates devoted students until just a few years ago, when exercise science caught up to the principles that Pilates had been teaching all along, and now we enjoy the rich evolution of the Pilates work that we have today.

I have known LeeAnn Nickell for over 10 years.  She is a very professional person in her role as trainer and Certified Pilates instructor.
LeeAnn always assesses her clients each visit ensuring that the class work will be suitable for the needs.  She adjusts or modifies an exercise or movement to address issues and injuries so the program each time is tailored to an individual’s requirements.
